Tree Preservation

At Maine Treekeepers LLC, excellence is the cornerstone of everything we do. With over 10 years of experience in the professional tree care industry, we specialize in rope and harness climbing techniques that allow us to care for trees in a way that is both effective and environmentally responsible.

As proud members of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) we stay at the forefront of industry standards - constantly learning new techniques, treatment methods and strategies to better serve the trees and ecosystems of Midcoast Maine. Our commitment to safety, sustainability and ongoing education ensures we provide the highest level of care for each tree we touch.

We are deeply passionate about protecting native plant species and promoting healthy landscapes whether it's tree pruning, preservation, or organic pest management, we're dedicated to “Caring for the Earth, one tree at a time”.

Tree Climbing & Maintenance

Tree climbing and maintenance involves the use of specialized climbing techniques and equipment- such as ropes, harnesses and knots-to safely access and care for trees. This approach allows our Arborist to perform essential services like pruning, canopy thinning, dead wooding and structural evaluations without damaging the tree and surrounding landscape.

At Maine Treekeepers LLC we use advanced climbing methods like foot locking for efficient accents along with a wide range of knots to ensure safety and precision while working at extreme heights. These rope-based techniques allow us to access even the most challenging trees without the need for bucket trucks, preserving the natural environment around each tree.

Vista Pruning

Vista pruning in Midcoast Maine enhances scenic ocean views and natural landscapes, while supporting the long-term health of your trees and forest. By selectively removing overcrowded growth, this service creates space for specimen trees to thrive, improves air and light circulation, while encouraging stronger healthier stands of native trees. Vista pruning not only opens up beautiful views of the ocean but also helps maintain the integrity of your woods, preserving iconic evergreens while reducing competition and promoting biodiversity. It's a perfect balance between enjoying the scenery and caring for your land.

Corrective Pruning & Elevation

Corrective pruning and elevation are essential practices for maintaining the health, safety and beauty of all types of trees-including deciduous trees, fruit trees and evergreens. This process involves the careful removal of interfering or rubbing branches. As well as dead, damaged, or low hanging branches to improve structure, increase sunlight and air flow, and prevent potential hazards. Elevating the canopy enhances visibility, clears walkways or driveways, and encourages balanced, healthy growth. Whether you're managing a backyard orchard, ornamental trees, or a stand of evergreens, corrective pruning and elevation supports long term vitality and creates a cleaner, more functional landscape.

Restoration

Tree restoration is essential for reviving trees that have suffered from storm damage or years of overgrowth. High winds, heavy snow, and ice can leave trees with broken branches, structural imbalances, and increased vulnerability to disease.

Restoration involves careful pruning, removal of hazardous limbs, tree anchoring and reshaping the canopy to encourage balanced growth. This process helps extend the life of your tree, improves their appearance, and makes your landscape safer and more resilient. Restoring mature trees is often more sustainable and cost effective than removals offering long term benefits for both your property and the environment.

Planting

With over 100 trees successfully planted, our team provides tree planting services that prioritize long-term health, beauty and environmental balance. While we specialize in planting native tree species that thrive in the local climate and support native wildlife, we also plant a wide range of ornamental and landscape trees based on your specific needs and site conditions.

Every tree is installed with the proper soil amendments, spacing and care instructions to ensure strong root establishment and healthy growth. We use shade maps to indicate where it may be best for the exact specimen tree you’re planting. Whether you're restoring a woodland, enhancing your yard or boosting curb appeal, we combine experience, sustainability, and precision to help your trees thrive.

Cabling & Bracing

Tree cabling and bracing are advanced arboricultural techniques used to provide structural support to trees with weak or split limbs, multiple trunks, or heavy canopy loads. Using high end, corrosion resistant cable, dead end grips, and brushless tools we install support systems that strengthen the tree without causing long term harm.
To prevent girdling and ensure tree stability, we never wrap cables around the trunk. Instead, we drilled clean, precise holes through the tree, allowing the system to anchor securely without restricting growth or damaging vascular tissue; this method maintains the tree's natural structure while reducing the risk of failing during storms or underweight. Our cabling solutions are discreet, durable, and designed to extend the life and safety of your tree.

Fertilizing & Aerating

Healthy trees start with healthy soil. Our tree fertilization and soil decompaction service helps restore root health by improving access to oxygen, nutrients, and water. We use a drill and auger bit to strategically aerate compacted soil around the drip zone - caused by foot traffic, riding mowers, vehicle pressure, or general wear - without disturbing the tree's critical root structure.

We apply only organic fertilizers, including trusted products like Tree-Tone and Holly-Tone, to enrich the soil naturally and encourage new, sustainable growth. This method enhances root performance, improves drainage, and revitalizes struggling trees, especially in compacted or stressed environments. It's a safe, effective, and eco-friendly way to support long term tree health.

Tree Removal

At Maine Treekeepers LLC, tree removal is not our first choice-we are committed to being tree preservationists and prioritize the health and longevity of trees whenever possible. However, there are situations when a removal is absolutely necessary, such as when a tree has experienced trunk failure, poses a danger to your home, has become overgrown, or is infected by invasive pests that threaten its health and sustainability.
We approach each tree removal with care, ensuring minimal impact to your landscape and taking every step to preserve the environment. Our goal is always to maintain a healthy, thriving landscape, and we only recommend removal when it’s the safest and most responsible option.
TreeAzin is used to combat harmful insects like Brown Tail Moth, Emerald Ash Borer, Spongy Moth and many other leaf eating pests.

Tree Injections

Our advanced tree injection service utilizes the Eco-Ject Microinjection system to deliver safe, targeted treatment directly into the trees vascular system. Ideal for urban and residential settings, this method minimizes environmental impact while effectively treating pests from the inside out.

We use 100% organic TreeAzin, TreeAzin is a systematic insecticide derived from Neem tree seed extract. Used to combat harmful insects like Brown Tail Moth, Emerald Ash Borer, Spongy Moth and many other leaf eating pests. As the tree photosynthesizes, the treatment travels through the trunk and into the canopy, eliminating pest without harming beneficial insects, birds, or wildlife.

We are proud to be one of the very few service providers in the state of Maine offering this advanced and environmentally responsible treatment-giving your trees the highest level of care with minimal impact on surrounding ecosystems.

Soil Drenching

To support trees affected by Beech Leaf Disease, we apply Polyphosphate 30 around the base of the tree through a process called soil drenching. This treatment stimulates the trees natural defense mechanisms and may reduce populations of nematodes (microscopic worms) believed to contribute to the disease’s progression.

Broadcasting Polyphosphate 30 is a low impact, soil-based solution that helps trees recover from stress and resist further damage. It's especially effective in early-stage infections, giving the tree the support they need to fight back naturally while improving overall root and canopy health.
